Director (Education) – The Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka

The Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) is the apex body for Engineers in Sri Lanka. IESL is a member of the International Engineers’ Alliance, a full signatory to the Washington Accord and a member of the International Professional Engineers’ Agreement. Its Secretariat located in Colombo serves a membership of more than 24,000. In order to provide improved services to the members the following vacancy will need to be filled immediately.

POST OF DIRECTOR EDUCATION

The responsibilities include conducting Continuous Professional Development programs for Engineers, conducting qualifying examinations for those who wish to obtain and/ or upgrade membership of the IESL and evaluating the course content of Engineering degree programs of educational institutions seeking recognition from IESL. The selected candidate will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Science/ Management and be a Corporate Member of the relevant professional institution. The candidate should be well versed in IT skills and should have a pleasing personality with excellent communication skills. He/ she should be able to deal effectively with professional institutions and professionals.

Candidate with teaching experience in a Faculty of a recognized University will have a definite advantage. The selected candidate will have opportunities for career growth.

Remuneration: Negotiable

Age limit at the time of initial recruitment: 35-55 years.
