We’re not living in the time of East India Company. Today a whole lot of organizations are out there in the market for offering work to skilled experts. These organizations typically get successful in hiring the best and most brilliant experts due to the offers of big wage packages, but yet you may observe a tendency periodically – some people always pick government positions instead of private ones regardless of the salary. Do you know why this happens? In this article, I’ll try to provide the answer.

Given are three significant benefits limited to government employees that private employees don’t obtain in most cases:

More allowances and advantages

Even after the end of pension government positions still provide more allowances and benefits to employees when compared to private employees. For example, dwelling allowances, motor vehicle allowances, travel allowances, mobile allowances sometimes and much more than that. Now I’m not suggesting that private jobs don’t provide these facilities to employees. Of course they do, however not all private jobs cover these many expenses of employees. However, if you’ve a government work then regardless of your department or post you obtain access to all these allowances.

Security and Stability

Unlike private sector when jobs are lost sometimes even on the minor faults, government employment are largely permanent until you do something terribly wrong. In fact, until you’re a highly important Executive rank office of the company you may get fired even for a smallest mistake. This doesn’t happen in government sectors at least. They provide additional security to employees for their future and help them in living a calm life.

Ease of working

Government jobs also offer the advantage of a relaxed working environment. They come with predetermined patterns for bonuses and promotions, so you don’t need to outperform yourself for earning those perks. On the other hand, private companies promote the individuals who outperform their counterparts in competition or have solid ties with top-level executives. Secondly, working hours and deadlines in government jobs are also fairly feasible in comparison to the never-ending stream of tasks that stay on the shoulders of private employees. When all these variables join together, the private working environment becomes stressful and filled with anxiety while the government working environment remains tranquil and pleasant!

However, despite of these aspects which industry you choose depends fully on your personal preference. If fast growth means for you more than anything else then you should go for the private sector. On the other side, if you aren’t so much concerned about the fast growth then you can choose for government work.
